New Students & Parent Information

IVS Partners with School Districts to Provide Students with:

  • An opportunity to take courses not offered by their face-to-face school, such as Advanced Placement, foreign languages, and other enrichment opportunities;
  • Credit recovery options to graduate on time; and
  • Individualized instruction that occurs anytime, anywhere, and any pace.

What is the Process?

Please follow the steps outlined in Registration area to ensure that you apply, request courses, and participate in your IVS courses seamlessly.

Is Online Learning Right For You?

Students should realize that taking a course online requires personal discipline and good time management skills. Students may spend more time taking an online course than they typically devote to a traditional school class.

In order to participate in online courses, students need adequate keyboard skills and good written communication skills. Experience using email and a web browser is highly recommended. Students also need to be self-motivated. Students will need to stay on task, meet deadlines and pursue assistance for any technical problems that may occur. Students need to log in several times a week to keep up with what's going on in class.

Parent/Guardian Information

Once a student completes an application, an unique IVS username and password (or credentials) are emailed to both the student and each guardian.  Please keep these on file.

Parents can use their credentials to log into our Student Information System at https://sis.ilvirtual.org to view student grades and attendance.  We have developed a help guide to assist you in this process.
